I'm back and in full force to get our facility to the next level after
being out of the area for a couple of years.

THIS IS A VOLUNTEER CLUB AND WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT ABILITIES AND
AVAILABLE TIME TO GIVE BACK.

PLEASE CONTRIBUTE!

We are meeting at the dock at 9am Saturday Oct. 11th. I will be there
at 8 am to unload lumber, parts and tools. A few extra hands would be
appreciated.

There will be snacks and drinks provided during the work party.

The BBQ afterwards will be announced soon.

There will be a drawing for a great prize donated by Darcy for those who
attend the work party.

This is a list of dock repair items that I intend to complete

BOAT HOUSE OFFICE / MEMBERS STORAGE / FUTURE CHANGING ROOM AND CLOTHES
STORAGE
Our intention is to insulate and cover the ceiling and walls in this
area and install a small heater. This will provide a warm place to
change in and a safe place for cold bodies to warm up after practice,
especially someone hypothermic.

Remove everything except hanging stuff from club house
office/dressing/member only room for the day only.
Over the top of the existing deck install 2X4 and 2X2 floors joist with
1 1/2" insulation between.
Then 4X8 X 3/4" T&G plywood, finish side up over that for the final
flooring. Could be painted with a fast drying deck plywood.
4 hours total time with lots of help. 6-8 people

Also take inventory of the boat storage area and get rid of ( or give
away to member) all old amas and Iakos with no near future use.

AT THE SAME TIME

All canoes off deck

Installing the new Ama rack system on the south side of the deck ( built
by Keith in advance ). 1.2 hours 2-3 people

Cut our 2X6 decking where the roller carts run and replace with hardwood
boards. 4 people 1.5 hours

Add carpet small boat rigging area.

SUGGESTED PROJECTS BY OTHERS Someone please take charge of these items
individually or all. PLEASE STEP UP!

Pressure wash building, I have a pressure washer to loan for this and
could have it there this weekend for someone to use. VOLUNTEERS ? ?
has to be done before the work party.

WEATHER PERMITTING
Paint building with either a sprayer or allot of rollers and brushes. I
have airless gun to loan to the club. A bunch of people, do you like
to paint?

CANOES

Wash out all moss and mildew and install newly varnished iakos on two
calmars and add skirts to all four calmars as winter is really close.
REALLY CLOSE!

Take out the two racing canoes and bring the Bradley back for a short
time and the stretch canoe for the winter. Adam planned to have to have
the Bradley repaired by then and I will have the iakos refinished by
then too.

We need new life jackets purchased and brought to the dock.

Lights need to all be working are working and that and Martys new
brackets for the rear light are right and the lights are high off the
water.

We also need light for the small boats. Different style than the big boats.

This all can be done by 1pm as long as we plan ahead and know our
numbers of people showing up.

SO, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU CAN DO ON THIS WORKDAY. Mary sugests
adding $25 dollars to the dues of those who DON'T SHOW.
I will take count and either add more projects or cut some out and send
out a request for certain tools needed.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Cheers
Keith
