Last year I did the Maui to Molokai Race as a relay with Jacques Blais. 
Living on the Big Island for a number of years Jacques had been very 
involved with promoting the sport and is himself a very accomplished 
paddler. Our race was on Saturday, then on Sunday while I was 
comfortably sitting on Rick Nu'u's escort boat for Pa'a's first ever 
Molokai to Oahu OC1/OC2 Iron Race, Jacques was on a jet ski chasing the 
field across the channel with his video camera. Jacques has now returned 
to New Brunswick and is dreaming of being back in Hawaii just like the 
rest of us. If you have 10 minutes, watch his video and if that doesn't 
get your mind off winter time, nothing will.
