All –How was your crew’s Gorge race? What did the crew do well? What did the crew have a challenge doing? What is the difference between a good race, an ok race and a bad race? How did your race go as an individual? What did you learn? Can you indentify what you need to work on? What do you use to judge your individual performance? How do you know if you’re getting better?
How changes to the training program do you think would help you?
Please hit the reply button and let me know your thoughts.
Couple of items talked about post race:Crews need to do more work at intensity so that the first part of races are efficient and aggressive. The Gorge is enjoyable.Sitting in 1 or 2 seat is lonely going into the waves.Working together to put a big power surge is needed to surf well
Proposed changes- I believe that keeping men and women is different boats is important to allow each group to learn to paddle better together. There is a big difference paddling in a “onegender” boat versus paddling mixed. Through the winter I would like to have the club paddling more men/women than mixed.- Paddling long distance is very important, would like to move winter training toward more of a distance program than an interval program.
Terry – can you please get a “MH to the Gorge for training” date onto next year’s calendar.Marti – Can we get a few sets of resistors that give lest resistance that a bucket but more that the black resistors. (and people let Marti know of this request as I’m not sure he’ll get this email).
Peter
